Aobadai Tokyu Square Hosts First 'Yokohama Aoba Wheat Festival' to Enjoy Local Consumption through Drink, Food, and Stage Events!

Aobadai Tokyu Square (located in Aoba-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; hereafter 'the Facility'), a community-based commercial facility operated by Tokyu Malls Development Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Koyama; hereafter 'our company'), will host the 'Yokohama Aoba Wheat Festival' for the first time on May 2 (Saturday) and May 3 (Sunday/Holiday). This event allows visitors to enjoy local production for local consumption up close. In Aoba Ward, farmers, welfare facilities, and restaurants are collaborating on the 'Yokohama Aoba Wheat Project' under the theme of 'local production for local consumption,' handling everything from wheat cultivation to product creation and service as one united effort. This initiative is expanding as a crucial project supporting local food culture by connecting local producers with consumers. The project manufactures a beer called 'Angel With Blue Wings' (commonly known as Aoba Beer) using 'Aoba Wheat' harvested in Aoba Ward, which is sold at the Aobadai Tokyu Food Show on the B1 floor of the South-1 Main Building. To make these activities utilizing local resources known to a wider audience, the Facility, the Aobadai Tokyu Food Show, and the 'Yokohama Aoba Wheat Project' are collaborating to host this event. At the venue, kitchen cars offering food and sweets made with 'Aoba Wheat' will appear. Additionally, a special original brew for this event, 'Aoba Honey Ale,' made with 'Posumitsu' honey harvested from the roof of the Aobadai Post Office and 'Aoba Wheat,' will be sold in limited quantities. Through food-related initiatives utilizing local resources, we aim to convey the efforts of the 'Yokohama Aoba Wheat Project' and the charm of 'Aoba Wheat' while offering a taste unique to the region. We will also liven up the venue with stage events featuring Japan Post's original character 'Posukuma' and singers active in Aoba Ward.
