Tokyu Resorts & Stay Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Shinya Tange) operates 'Tokyu Stay Kanazawa' (Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, General Manager: Hiroshi Onodera, hereinafter 'the hotel'). In collaboration with Oyama Shrine, which enshrines Lord Toshiie Maeda and his lawful wife, Lady Matsu, the hotel will establish 12 new special rooms named 'Samurai King Double,' themed on the samurai culture of Kaga Hyakumangoku. Reservations will commence on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Tokyu Stay Kanazawa is a hotel located north of the Korinbo area in the center of Kanazawa City, making it a convenient base for transportation, sightseeing, and business. It offers walking access to major tourist spots such as Kenrokuen Garden and Higashi Chaya District, and is surrounded by an urban environment with offices and restaurants, making it suitable for both sightseeing and long-term stays.

Oyama Shrine, a three-minute walk from the hotel, is a historic shrine that enshrines Lord Toshiie Maeda and his lawful wife, Lady Matsu. Its 'Shinmon' (gate), a national important cultural property, features a unique design that blends Japanese, Chinese, and Western architectural styles, with impressive colorful stained glass on the top floor. It once functioned as a lighthouse at night and is a special, symbolic spot in Kanazawa, bustling with worshippers seeking marital harmony, as well as victory, good fortune in competition, and career advancement, inspired by Lord Toshiie, who was a master of the spear.

■'Samurai King Double' Rooms Embodying the Splendor of Kaga Hyakumangoku and the Spirit of the Samurai
Toshiie Maeda was the first lord of the Kaga Domain, who developed the castle town of Kanazawa and laid the foundation for the city's infrastructure and prosperity. Inspired by his image as an 'unbeaten master of the spear,' the design centers on 'samurai spirit' along with the splendor of Kaga Hyakumangoku.

Pine motifs symbolizing Lady Matsu, his lawful wife, are arranged on the walls as tapestries. The foot throw features a design inspired by an anecdote where Ganku, a painter known for his tiger paintings who served the Maeda family in the late Edo period, is said to have painted 'Matsutora-zu' (Pine and Tiger painting) in Kanazawa Castle's Ninomaru. The opulence reminiscent of the glory of Kaga Hyakumangoku is expressed with gold fabric, recreating the atmosphere of that era in a modern guest room.

The cushions placed on the bed are embroidered with the Maeda family crest on a calm, glossy fabric. This fabric is made from upcycled curtains that were scheduled for disposal, as part of Tokyu Stay's promotion of upcycling initiatives.
