□ About the Suntory Group
The Suntory Group has been a long-time leader in technological innovation and the practical application of "bottle to bottle" horizontal recycling. This began in 2012 when it became the first in the domestic soft drink industry to introduce 100% recycled PET bottles (*2), and continued with the development of the world's first "FtoP Direct Recycling Technology" (*3), which reduces CO2 emissions compared to conventional methods.
The group continues to promote activities aimed at achieving a sustainable society and its goal of "100% sustainable PET bottles," as outlined in its 2019 "Plastic Policy": to eliminate the use of new fossil-fuel-derived materials by transitioning all PET bottles used globally to recycled or plant-derived materials by 2030.
