The Tokyu Group will begin operating a special limited-edition train called the 'GREEN LIFESTYLE TRAIN,' themed around its exhibition facility 'Tokyu Group Pavilion' for GREEN×EXPO 2027 (International Horticultural Exposition 2027) (hereinafter 'the Expo'), with one trainset each on the following lines: the Toyoko Line and Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line starting July 14, 2026 (Tue); the Den-en-toshi Line starting July 20, 2026 (Mon, national holiday); and the Meguro Line and Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line starting August 3, 2026 (Mon), for a total of three trainsets.
The trainsets will operate until September 2027, when the Expo concludes, with the aim of raising awareness of the Tokyu Group's exhibition and those of multiple participating companies and organizations, and building excitement for the Expo in the lead-up to and during its run, which begins in March 2027 in Yokohama.
The exterior livery is designed to evoke a sense of hope for a future in harmony with nature, based on the 'Tokyu Group Pavilion' exhibition theme: 'GREEN LIFESTYLE 2050 – A Future Nurtured from Seeds, Connected Together.' Inside the train, displays will feature the 'Tokyu Group Pavilion' and exhibition facilities of sponsor companies and organizations, transforming the entire train into a visual showcase for the Expo. In conjunction with the train's launch, an official mascot character for the 'Tokyu Group Pavilion,' named 'Mirai Dane,' has also been introduced. Inspired by the pavilion's architecture and the theme 'A Future Nurtured from Seeds, Connected Together,' Mirai Dane will appear on the train's exterior livery and interior displays.
During the Expo, shuttle buses will run from Den-en-toshi Line's Minami-Machida Grandberry Park Station to the venue, while Shin-Yokohama Station on the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line will serve as a key transportation hub. Through the operation of these special trains, the Tokyu Group aims to promote the Expo's appeal not only across its own network but also throughout the wider region, including lines connected via through-services.
