Fifth Relaxation Work Lounge 'relark Izu Highland' Opens on July 11 with Staffed Storefront Operations

TOKYU Corporation will open the fifth location of its staffed, individual-user-focused relaxation work lounge 'relark (Relark)'—'relark Izu Highland' (hereinafter, the facility)—on July 11, 2026, on the first floor of Izu Highland Station Yamamo Plaza, directly connected to the Izu Kyuko Line's Izu Highland Station.

In February this year, TOKYU Corporation and the city of Ito signed the 'Collaboration Agreement on Exchange Hubs with Coworking Functions' (hereinafter, the Agreement), aiming to solve regional challenges through the circulation of local resources using digital technology and by balancing environmental and socioeconomic factors. The Agreement establishes a framework for renovating and utilizing the Izu Highland Station Yamamo Plaza as part of Shizuoka Prefecture's 'Frontier Regional Circular Symbiosis Zone Formation Project.' This initiative aims to create an exchange hub where businesses and students can access advanced technologies and foster new business creation. The facility is being developed under this Agreement.

The facility consists of work areas, meeting rooms, and lounge areas. In addition to private booths and meeting rooms for business use, it includes office spaces available for rent to companies for a certain period, creating a spacious telework environment previously unavailable in the Izu Highland area. By also serving as a lounge at Izu Highland Station for a wide range of users—including local residents, students, and tourists—it will help expand business and tourism demand from within and outside the prefecture.

Additionally, the facility will introduce the humanoid robot Pepper+, providing multilingual facility and tourism guidance. It will also be the first facility to offer tourism guidance using an 'AI Concierge Agent'—a pioneering initiative.

The Pepper+ introduced this time supports Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean, serving two roles: 'Facility Guidance'—providing information on usage methods, pricing plans, membership registration, and FAQs—and 'Tourism Guidance'—introducing tourist attractions and local spots centered around Izu Highland and the eastern Izu coast.

In facility guidance, natural conversations powered by generative AI deliver personalized information to each visitor. By supporting facility and regional information delivery, it reduces staff workload and enhances visitor convenience and satisfaction.

In tourism guidance, the 'AI Concierge Agent' utilizes generative AI and onboard cameras to naturally engage visitors, understand their attributes and situations, and through dialogue, recommend personalized tourism information. This enables tourism guidance tailored to visitors' interests, more effectively promoting the region's charm. Notably, this is the first facility to offer tourism guidance using Pepper+'s 'AI Concierge Agent'.
