The company has today concluded a loan agreement with the Development Bank of Japan (hereinafter "DBJ") under the DBJ-Dialogue-Based Sustainability Linked Loan (hereinafter "this Loan"). This is the first sustainability-linked loan based on our "Environmental Vision 2040."
This Loan is based on the "Sustainability Linked Loan Principles" and the "Green Loan and Sustainability Linked Loan Guidelines." As the lender, DBJ supports the borrower in setting appropriate Key Performance Indicators (hereinafter "KPIs") and Sustainability Performance Targets (hereinafter "SPTs") that contribute to the advancement of the borrower's sustainability management through dialogue. Furthermore, by linking the loan terms to the borrower's performance against these SPTs and providing motivation for achieving them, the loan aims to promote and support the realization of a sustainable society and sustainable corporate growth through the resolution of environmental and social issues. DBJ sets the borrower's key initiatives for achieving SPTs as "dialogue themes" and provides ongoing support toward achieving these SPTs through regular dialogue during the loan period.
Under our group slogan "Toward a Beautiful Era," we have positioned "Decarbonization and a Circular Society" as a materiality issue as a company that integrates public transportation and urban development, and we have been promoting sustainable urban development in harmony with the environment.
In this Loan, the GHG emission reduction targets set forth in our "Environmental Vision 2040" have been established as the KPIs and SPTs.
