Subsequently served as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Commerce, Chuo Gakuin University, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Tsukuba, Visiting Researcher at the Danish School of Education (now Graduate School of Education, Aarhus University), and Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba, before joining the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2008. Assumed current position in 2013.
