Railway Workshop 2026 to be Held!

Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Akihiro Kosaka; hereinafter "Tokyo Metro") and the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Director: Hiroshi Toshiyoshi; hereinafter "IIS, University of Tokyo") will hold the "Railway Workshop 2026 ~The Mechanism of Railways Connecting Cities and Vehicles~" on Friday, July 31, 2026. The "Railway Workshop 2026" is a program aimed at fostering next-generation talent by leveraging the resources of both Tokyo Metro and the IIS, University of Tokyo's Office for Next-Generation Education*. It will be held during the summer vacation period for junior high and high school students. This 12th collaborative project will feature lectures focusing on motors and control devices, tours of the Nakano Rolling Stock Base of Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and the Komaba Research Campus of IIS, University of Tokyo, lectures, experiments, and discussions on railway mechanisms from a user's perspective, as well as a social gathering to deepen friendships among participants. The recruitment capacity is 25 students each for the junior high school class and the high school class (total 50 students).
