Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Taito-ku, Tokyo; President: Akihiro Kosaka; hereinafter "Tokyo Metro") and Tobu Railway Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President: Yutaka Tsuzuki; hereinafter "Tobu Railway") will launch a manners awareness campaign titled "'Let's Learn Japanese Culture with Manga!' 'MANGA MANNERS'" starting Monday, March 30, 2026. This campaign will utilize Kodansha's manga characters to funnily introduce Japanese manners for train use and daily life to international visitors.
As the number of international visitors to Japan continues to reach record highs and is expected to increase further, Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway will display and broadcast posters and videos featuring manga characters introducing manners alongside actual manga panels. These will be placed within both companies' station premises and train cars, and also posted on social media, to ensure international visitors can smoothly use Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway and enjoy their time in Japan.
Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway will continue to implement initiatives to raise awareness of manners so that all customers can use the railways comfortably.
1. Period
Posters and videos will be displayed and broadcast sequentially starting Monday, March 30, 2026.
*Scheduled to be displayed and broadcast until around Thursday, April 30 of the same year. Please note that the display period may be subject to change.
2. Display/Broadcast Locations
Within Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway station premises and train cars.
