Tokyo Dome Hotel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 1-3-61 Koraku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President and General Manager: Fumiyuki Munakata) will host a special two-day event, "Parent-Child Challenge! Cake Making Class," on August 12 (Wed) and 13 (Thu), 2026, designed for elementary school children.

The class will be led by Chef Patissier Kenji Nagashima, who oversees the hotel's dessert offerings. Children will wear chef coats and hats and, under the guidance of the professional pastry chef, will experience making sponge cake batter and decorating as they create their very own fruit shortcake.

Additionally, the event introduces a creative way to upcycle leftover sponge cake scraps—normally discarded—into a beautifully remade dessert. The reimagined glass cake will be served during tea time alongside beverages. Participants can take their finished fruit shortcake home, and at the end of the event, each child will receive a "Junior Chef Certificate."

This hands-on experience is perfect for summer vacation projects and creating lasting family memories, allowing parents to enjoy photographing their children as they seriously engage in the role of a pastry chef.
