The space industry is an aggregation of cutting-edge technologies, and its related technological fields are diverse. Therefore, technological development for the space industry is expected to have a significant ripple effect and application to other industries.
The government has set a goal to expand the market size of Japan's space industry from 4 trillion yen in 2020 to 8 trillion yen in the early 2030s. Such growth industries present a significant opportunity for SMEs and startups in Tokyo to enter.
The Subsidies for Development Costs of Space Products, etc. is a project that supports Tokyo-based SMEs in gaining business opportunities in the space industry by subsidizing a portion of the costs incurred for the development and improvement of equipment, software, and solutions themed around the "space industry."

◆ Eligible Expenses Raw materials and subsidiary materials / Machinery, equipment, tools, and instruments / Outsourcing costs / Expert guidance fees / Industrial property rights application and acquisition fees / Direct labor costs / Exhibition costs for trade shows, etc. / Advertising costs
◆ Eligible Themes This subsidy program consists of "Equipment Development Subsidies" and "Solution Development Subsidies," and you will select one at the time of application. The subsidy details for each are as follows.
1. Equipment Development Subsidies Eligible period: December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2027 (within 3 years) Maximum amount: 100 million yen (minimum amount 15 million yen) Subsidy rate: Within 2/3 of expenses recognized as eligible for subsidy.
2. Solution Development Subsidies Eligible period: December 1, 2024, to August 31, 2026 (within 1 year and 9 months) Maximum amount: 20 million yen (no minimum amount) Subsidy rate: Within 2/3 of expenses recognized as eligible for subsidy.
