The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan SME Support Center have announced the FY2026 application details for a subsidy program supporting successors of SMEs who undertake new business ventures or sales channel expansion following business succession. Grants of up to 8 million yen are available, with an increased subsidy rate for companies planning wage hikes.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Support Center are supporting business succession within Tokyo's SMEs by assisting successors who aim for further growth through new business development.

### Support Details

#### 1. Subsidy Support

* **General Course** * **Maximum Amount:** 8 million yen * **Subsidy Rate:** Within 2/3 of eligible expenses (Up to 3/4 if a wage increase plan is established, and up to 4/5 for small-scale enterprises). * **Eligible Expenses:** Costs required for development of new products/services through to sales promotion (raw materials, equipment, outsourcing, promotion, etc.).

* **Sales Channel Expansion Course (New)** * **Maximum Amount:** 3 million yen * **Subsidy Rate:** Within 2/3 of eligible expenses. * **Eligible Expenses:** Costs required for expanding sales channels for existing or new products (market research, advertising, exhibition fees, etc.).

#### Eligibility SMEs (including sole proprietors) in Tokyo that succeeded their business between April 1, 2021, and the day before the application date, and are embarking on new business development triggered by this succession.

#### Subsidy Period Maximum of 1 year from the date of the grant decision.

#### 2. Advisor Dispatch (General Course only) For businesses selected in the General Course, experts will be dispatched to provide advice on improving implementation and further business development (2 visits per company, free of charge).
