Tokyo Metropolitan Government to Support Sustainable Business Management for SMEs Affected by Soaring Prices — Applications Open for "SME Profitability Enhancement Support Program"

The increase in business operating costs due to soaring prices and other factors is having a serious impact on the business continuity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To overcome such management challenges, it is necessary to improve and strengthen corporate profitability and solidify the foundation of business activities. Therefore, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center are providing accompanying support for planning and implementing profitability improvement measures, as well as partial subsidies for expenses necessary for plan execution, targeting SMEs in Tokyo that are affected by rising prices and their business continuity. This aims to support the stable business continuity of SMEs. Overview 1. Eligibility SMEs in Tokyo that fall under any of the following categories: ・Companies whose operating profit decreased in the latest fiscal year compared to the previous fiscal year. ・Companies that recorded a loss in the latest fiscal year. * Companies selected for the "Creative Challenge Promotion Project for Strengthening Management Capabilities" are not eligible for support under this program. 2. Support Content ① Expert Dispatch For SMEs in Tokyo facing increased business costs due to prolonged rising prices, experts will visit and diagnose companies, follow up on plan formulation for realizing improved profitability, and provide accompanying support for plan execution. (Target number of supported companies: 500) ② Subsidy Support For companies that have formulated a profitability improvement plan based on proposals from the above experts, such as price pass-through, acquisition of new customers, and cost reduction, expenses necessary for the execution of the plan will be subsidized. ・Maximum subsidy amount: 3 million yen ・Subsidy rate: Up to two-thirds of eligible expenses * If applying with a wage increase plan, up to three-quarters (up to four-fifths for small businesses) * If the wage increase plan is not achieved, the subsidy rate will be up to two-thirds. ・Subsidy period: One year from the date of grant decision.
