The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center have been implementing the "Equipment Investment Support Project for Breakthrough Business Promotion" since FY2021. This project subsidizes a portion of the introduction costs of machinery and equipment required when SMEs in Tokyo promote productivity improvements for "strengthening competitiveness through qualitative improvement of products and services" and "expanding production capacity."
We are pleased to announce that 92 projects have been selected for support in the 10th round (2nd round of FY2025).

(Reference) <Overview of the Subsidy Project> Eligible Applicants SMEs, etc., that have a registered head office or branch in Tokyo as of the base date (in the case of individuals, those who have submitted a notification of opening a business in Tokyo and are conducting business) and have been continuously operating for 2 years or more.

Eligible Projects [Project Categories] Projects must fall under one of the following categories from I to V: I Competitiveness Enhancement - Projects to newly introduce machinery and equipment necessary for business expansion aimed at strengthening competitiveness for further development. - Projects in transportation/logistics, construction, and other industries to newly introduce machinery and equipment necessary to improve competitiveness and productivity as a countermeasure against human resource shortages caused by the overtime work limit regulations under the work-style reform-related laws applied from April 2024 (Work-style reform promotion). II DX Promotion Projects to newly introduce machinery and equipment necessary for business expansion aimed at building new products/services or transforming existing businesses through the utilization of digital technologies such as IoT, AI, and robots. III Innovation Projects to newly introduce machinery and equipment necessary to foster innovation by engaging in new business activities in industrial fields expected to contribute to solving urban issues and expanding markets domestically and internationally. IV Successor Challenge Projects to newly introduce machinery and equipment necessary for business diversification or tackling new management issues by a successor, triggered by business succession. V Upgrade Promotion Projects to newly introduce machinery and equipment necessary to realize strengthened competitiveness and improved productivity, and to grow to become the center of the regional economy.
Subsidy Rate & Maximum Subsidy Amount Subsidy Rate: Within 1/2 to 4/5. Maximum Subsidy Amount: 30 million to 200 million JPY. * The subsidy rate is expanded if the zero-emission requirement or wage increase requirement is met.
Eligible Subsidy Period 1 year and 6 months from the 1st of the month following the date of the grant decision (March 1, 2026 - at the longest, August 31, 2027).
Eligible Expenses Introduction expenses for machinery and equipment, fixtures, and software.
Equipment Installation Location Within Tokyo, as well as Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, and Yamanashi Prefectures. (* If installed outside Tokyo, the head office must be located within Tokyo.)
