About the Organizing Body

We, the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (hereinafter referred to as "Tokyo JC"), were founded in 1949 (Showa 24) by young people who shared the aspiration that "the reconstruction of a new Japan is the work of youth" amidst the deep scars of war that remained in the city and people's hearts.

Since then, Tokyo JC has been engaged in various activities and movements under the philosophy of "realizing a bright and prosperous society." Tokyo JC is composed of members who have joined based on their free individual will, regardless of race, nationality, gender, occupation, or religion.

Japan's Junior Chambers of Commerce are based on "individual training," "service to society," and "friendship with the world." They strive to enlighten and exchange with members, cultivate public spirit, and contribute to the development of society through collaboration with the community, actively addressing social issues.

The fields of activity, which have experienced various practical training within the Junior Chamber, are wide-ranging. Including graduates who have retired upon reaching the age of 40, many individuals are active as community leaders and have also contributed many talents to politics and business circles.
