“Makoto Kubota 30th Anniversary: Live-Action Astro Fighter Sunred Show” Announced

Tokyo Dome City (1-3-61 Koraku, Bunkyo-ku) will host the first-ever stage adaptation of Makoto Kubota's animation work, 'Astro Fighter Sunred,' titled 'Makoto Kubota 30th Anniversary: Live-Action Astro Fighter Sunred Show,' at the 'Theater G Rosso' from October 31, 2026 (Sat) to November 8, 2026 (Sun).

'Astro Fighter Sunred' is an animation series that aired for four seasons (52 episodes) between 2008 and 2010. It is a comedy depicting the fierce battles between the hero 'Sunred' and the villains of the world-conquering organization 'Frolshiem' in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, as they engage in surprisingly common, ordinary exchanges.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original creator Makoto Kubota's career, we are holding a 'Live-Action' hero show at the hero sacred ground, 'Theater G Rosso,' featuring the anime cast. Confirmed cast members include Shun Takagi (Sunred), Yamada Rui 53 (General Vamp), Higuchi-kun (Combatant #1), Kurumi Mamiya (Usakottsu), and Atsushi Ono (Taiza/Narrator). From Kawasaki to the hero's sacred ground, Red and the Frolshiem members are returning! We look forward to delivering a show that fully captures the world of Sunred.

Driven by the staff's passion to see Sunred at the venue, the production team includes Mizuki Sano and Takuya Shiono, both self-proclaimed fans of the work, ensuring a complete recreation of the series' world. Additional activities, such as a commemorative illustration by Makoto Kubota and voice messages from the cast, will be released leading up to the event.
