Haneda Airport exclusive Chiharu Sakazaki penguin goods to be launched at 'HANEDA Shopping' and other outlets

Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. will release Haneda Airport exclusive penguin goods designed by popular illustrator Chiharu Sakazaki starting Friday, May 22, 2026, at the official Haneda Airport online shop 'HANEDA Shopping' and the 'Tokyoʼs Tokyo' store on the 3rd floor of Terminal 2.

This project features original illustrations by Chiharu Sakazaki themed around 'Sky, Travel, and Japan,' such as the 'Sky Penguin' wearing a Japanese flag scarf departing for the skies, and 'Penguin JAPAN' depicting penguins with traditional Japanese crafts and good luck charms.

■ Profile: Chiharu Sakazaki
Illustrator and Picture Book Author
Born in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, 1967.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Design in 1991.
Started working as a freelance illustrator and picture book author in 1998.
Major character designs include JR East's 'Suica Penguin,' Chiba Prefecture's 'Chi-ba+kun,' Daihatsu's 'Kaku-Kaku Shika-Jika,' and Yamato Holdings' 'Kuroneko Shiro-neko.'
Received the Ichikawa City Arts and Culture Encouragement Award in 2011.
Opened a permanent museum for original works, 'Penguin Museum,' inside Wadaya Villa in Ureshino Onsen, Saga Prefecture, in 2024.
