Tokuma Shoten Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideyuki Komiya) released the picture book "Tane ga Hitotsubu" (https://www.tokuma.jp/book/b677347.html) on Friday, June 12.
"I've always wanted to make a picture book"—Why is Tenten Hosokawa, who has focused on mental health issues, creating a book for children now?
Hosokawa, who previously participated in a mental health event, developed a strong belief that "if childhood isn't enjoyable, it's hard to find peace even as an adult," which inspired her to work on children's books. Her long-held wish has taken shape in "Tane ga Hitotsubu." This story is based on an idea she and her son came up with 13 years ago, making it a very special book for the author, finally published after 13 years.
Hosokawa, who has also attracted attention in the children's literature world by winning the 71st Sankei Children's Book Publishing Culture Award, wrote and illustrated this new work, creating a heartwarming and humorous picture book.
