A special program hosted by Chidori will be broadcast nationwide for the seventh consecutive year! This is a "transportation documentary variety show" brought to you by Chidori and a team of hard-working "transportation comedians"!
No matter how much science and technology advance, transporting goods still requires human strength and dedication. With the theme of "how things are transported and how they are received," we present the wonder of transportation... and the unknown human dramas hidden behind the scenes.
Here are the three transportation stories for this seventh installment:
Transportation of Sea of Japan Horsehair Crab Transportation comedian Emiko Kawamura (Tanpopo) takes on the challenge of transporting Wajima horsehair crabs raised in the rough seas of the Sea of Japan. From the sea to the port, the market, and finally to shops and dining tables—how do they transport them? We get up close with the intense work of the fishermen and the drama of the people who continue to deliver horsehair crabs for their hometown, overcoming the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
Transportation of a Non-Self-Propelled Train Transport a train with a total weight of approximately 40 tons over a distance of about 350 km! How do they transport the new train cars for the Abukuma Express in Fukushima Prefecture from where they were manufactured in Kanagawa to Fukushima? Since they are "new cars," they cannot move on their own... Hiroshi Yamamoto (Robert) documents this massive, multi-day project! We get close to the "transportation professionals" who ensure safety throughout the journey.
Transportation of Yakult Yakult celebrated its 90th anniversary last year. From the transport of the raw liquid for Yakult 1000 to the delivery by "Yakult Ladies"—how do they transport it? There is an unknown "baton relay" of craftsmen involved! Transportation comedian Macha-Macha observes the entire process until Yakult reaches the local community.
