Tohan Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroaki Kawakami) will host the 'Children's and Quality Book Exhibition,' a book fair specifically designed for library professionals. The event is scheduled to tour 59 venues across Japan from May to October 2026.
Exhibition Overview The fair will feature 12,000 volumes of children's and educational books suitable for library collections. The selection focuses on new titles published in 2025 and 2026, while also including long-sellers and standard classics. Visitors can freely browse and examine the contents of the books. Admission is free.
Inside the venue, visitors can create selection lists using their smartphones. After completing the selection, a list of book titles with ordering barcodes can be printed at the venue for visitors to take home.
Books that are frequently selected across the nationwide venues are scheduled to be announced around December 2026 as the 'Library Staff's Choice: Books We Want in Our Library Award 2026.'
