Toda Corporation (President: Seisuke Otani) will hold the second term of 'APK STUDIES', a learning space designed to nurture the creativity desperately needed by individuals, aimed at forming a community connected through art. This will be based at the TODA BUILDING, which opened in November 2024. The program will run from June 2026 to February 2027. We have started accepting applications for the second term members today. The application deadline is Friday, May 8, 2026.
'APK STUDIES' is a program where participants encounter various creative practices starting from art, deepening their own interests and awareness of issues. We are looking for people who want to actively learn mindsets and approaches from guests while engaging in dialogue with members of different values towards what they want to achieve.
In 'APK STUDIES', we call the instructors 'guests' because we value the attitude of learning together rather than a traditional teacher-student relationship. The second term features more guests than the first, including Yutaka Kikutake, who has a gallery in the TODA Building, photographer Hajime Kato, writer Rei Nagai, welfare and art coordinator Kenta Fujiwara, curator Hiroyuki Hattori, cultural researcher Hiroki Yamamoto, metote lab (centered on members who communicate in sign language), and the architect/artist unit mi-ri meter. Following the studies led by each guest, an exhibition introducing the planning stages of projects conceived and planned by members based on their respective interests will be held in January-February 2027. We consider this an opportunity to present panels and prototypes, and to touch upon the changes in thinking, realizations, and members' thoughts born through these learning opportunities.
