■ What is Peppol?

Peppol is a standard specification for exchanging electronic documents such as invoices over a network, encompassing "document specifications," "operational rules," and a "network." It is managed by Open Peppol, an international non-profit organization headquartered in Belgium, and is used in over 30 countries worldwide, including various European nations. In Japan, the Digital Agency has also published JP PINT, Japan's standard specification for digital invoices, based on Peppol.

Peppol adopts a "4-corner model" architecture, where sending and receiving occur via the respective access points of the sender and receiver, similar to email. This mechanism allows all users participating in the Peppol network to interact, even if they use different systems.

■ TKC's Initiatives

TKC was certified as a Peppol Service Provider by the Digital Agency and Open Peppol, the managing body of Peppol, in August 2022. As of the end of March 2026, 8,561 companies participate in the Peppol network using TKC's Peppol access point.

Furthermore, as a representative executive member of the "Electronic Invoice Promotion Association" (EIPA), TKC is committed to promoting the widespread adoption of Peppol invoices. It also provides various Peppol-compatible systems, including obtaining a patent (Patent No. 6950107) for generating journal entry data from received invoice data.
