CRYXIS, an alternative unit that debuted in 2025 and has drawn attention from both domestic and international alternative/loud music scenes, has released its latest single 'Breathe Again' via digital distribution.

This track portrays an unstable relationship with 'something'—such as love, dependency, self-destructive impulses, or obsession—that one wants to break free from but cannot escape. Built on heavy, sinking guitars, cold electronics, and beats that feel like a pounding heartbeat, the song incorporates shoegaze-like euphoria and elements of breakcore and Amen Break, resulting in a dark and intense sound that is characteristic of CRYXIS.

Vocalist YUJU commented: 'When people feel isolated or overwhelmed by vague anxiety, and can no longer take care of themselves or rely on others, they may cling to something in an unhealthy way. This song expresses the desire to breathe again, even while sinking deeper into a sense of suffocation by grasping at temporary light or salvation.'

Producer BUNNY stated: 'To express unease and emotional instability, I carefully selected melodies and tones that sound beautifully fragile. I hope those who share similar feelings will notice the playful elements we've included and feel a sense of empathy.'

The music video was directed by HIROHISA “l2iOT” NAKANO of CRYXIS and filmed on location by the sea. It visually captures the sensation of being engulfed by waves—the feeling of suffocation—and the yearning to breathe again, all through a cold, striking aesthetic.

This is a song that uses dark, weighty soundscapes to depict emotions wavering between salvation and destruction.
