South Korea's globally acclaimed trio wave to earth releases new album 'bad pieces' on August 7, marking a bold new chapter

South Korea's globally acclaimed indie rock band, wave to earth (ウェーブ・トゥ・アース), has announced the release of their new album 'bad pieces' on August 7, 2026. The three-piece band, consisting of Kim Daniel, John Cha, and Dong Kyu, is embarking on a new musical chapter, introducing new instruments and experimental sounds. The creative process has led to profound self-discovery for each member and the band as a whole.

"I feel this music is closer to the essence of wave to earth than ever before," says vocalist and guitarist Kim Daniel.

"Each member has always believed in expressing their individual musicality within the band. Over time, this naturally evolved into the sound you hear today."

Bassist John Cha adds, "We've always had a vision of creating our own music and contributing to the band. Each member's songwriting brings a unique personality to the group."

The album title 'bad pieces' draws inspiration from the phrase 'Bed Peace,' famously displayed behind John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their 1969 'Bed-in' protest.

"We felt that John and Yoko were in a peaceful state while lying in bed. When people listen to this album, we hope they can experience that same sense of peace within their own listening space," explains Kim.

The new single 'heaven and hell' is currently available. According to the band, the song captures the struggle of striving to live while preserving a child's innocence and purity.

This fall, wave to earth will launch a large-scale world tour. Hosted by Live Nation, 'the pieces tour' kicks off on September 4 in Vancouver and will visit 21 cities across North America, including Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Austin. Performances are also scheduled at legendary venues such as Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

In November, the tour will expand to Asia, with shows in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo. The Osaka and Tokyo performances are as follows:
