LA-based Japanese-American Producer Shane Sato to Release New Album 'Wavelength' on May 15

Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist/producer/songwriter Shane Sato releases his new album 'Wavelength'.

This work was created around his connection to his creative community, built through collaborations with a diverse range of artists. Braxton Cook, Box Dreams, Oli-J, and Nao Yoshioka participate, with their individual personalities intersecting organically.

The lead single 'Never Let You Go' is an R&B number on the theme of love and devotion, born from an impromptu session with Oli-J shortly after his marriage. 'Deep Dive', created with Adam Rhodes of Box Dreams, is a more introspective and indie-flavored track depicting the vulnerability of falling into a new love.

On 'Surfliner', inspired by the railway running along the Southern California coastline, neo-soul and jazz merge, with Braxton Cook's warm and expressive saxophone resonating. 'Clouds' highlights Reuben James's outstanding piano and soulful vocals, while 'You Are Loved' features Nao Yoshioka, delivering a light message on the theme of self-love.

Furthermore, 'Pulse' features Coastal and Glen Turner II, developing a lo-fi, danceable texture. 'Santa Fe Peanut Co.', a collaboration with Joy Guerrilla, unfolds a groove-oriented jazz fusion with a semi-live feel.

Traversing jazz, indie R&B, and soul while exploring their intersections, this work is unified by a warm, vivid soundscape and themes of 'love,' 'connection,' and 'the fluidity of water.' It is both a sonic expansion and a turning point for Shane Sato.

Shane Sato

A Japanese-American artist who grew up in Southern California and is now based in Los Angeles, Shane Sato.

He started playing drums at the age of 5, later expanding his range to guitar, piano, and trombone. During his school years, he gained performance experience in various formats such as rock bands, wind ensembles, and jazz bands, forming his musical foundation.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2017, he gained experience as a support musician for many bands and artists. He then focused on his own original work, releasing a series of independent projects.

His debut album 'Until We Meet Again' and a series of collaborative works (including the latest 'Airwaves Deluxe') have accumulated over 2.5 million streams. He has been selected for several editorial playlists on Spotify, such as 'Fresh Finds Jazz' and 'Morning Rhythm,' steadily building his reputation.
