Duran Duran Reunites with Nile Rodgers for New Disco Single 'Free To Love' featuring Nile Rodgers

Global music icon Duran Duran has released their brand-new single 'Free To Love' (feat. Nile Rodgers), featuring their long-time collaborator Nile Rodgers, marking their first new release of 2026. The music video for this track features British radio personality Clara Amfo and was directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who has worked with artists like Madonna, Beyoncé, Metallica, and Lady Gaga.

'Free To Love' is filled with uplifting energy and a euphoric groove. Legend Nile Rodgers is featured on the track and co-wrote it. It is described as a fun, intuitive, and popping cyber-punk funk made for the dance floor, while simultaneously delivering a positive and open message of love in today's divided world.

Introducing the song, lead singer Simon Le Bon said: "'Free To Love' is a disco tune for the 2020s. It's an upbeat, fast-tempo song about freedom. The theme is about loving instead of hating modern society. That's exactly what we need right now. Freedom! Let's get the freedom to love!"

Keyboardist Nick Rhodes added: "Every time we pick up our instruments with Nile, the energy he generates lights up the entire city. The long-standing collaboration between Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers began over 40 years ago with the remix of the hit single 'The Reflex' (which reached number one worldwide). 'Free To Love' is their latest collaboration.

Regarding the new song, Nile Rodgers stated: "True love is free and unconditional. The love I have for Duran Duran, and the essence of the music we've created together, comes from sharing love in its deepest meaning embedded in the songs. No matter how chaotic the outside world is, inside the studio, we are free to love peace."

The high-energy music video is directed by industry giant Jonas Åkerlund, with styling by Bea Åkerlund. After Clara Amfo introduces Duran Duran, they perform on a spectacular 'Top of the Pops' style set.
