Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to express dreams. This press release is a dream of The Blue Inc.
"To leave the beautiful blue sea and sky as they are for the next generation"
While this is a very simple wish, with climate change, marine plastic waste, military bases expanding even into space...
Is such an emotional hope or vision merely a "dream"? Just a fairy tale?
There is no doubt about the seriousness of environmental problems such as the drastic reduction of biodiversity due to climate change, the frequent occurrence of severe disasters, and marine plastic waste.
Solving large-scale global and cosmic problems requires significant power from governments and corporations, and at an individual level, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking, "I'm already doing what I can." However, The Blue Inc. (Akiya, Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture), which incorporates the meaning of "spreading blue" into its company name, is committed to:
"Helping people realize that they are part of nature and increasing actions that lead to the conservation and regeneration of the natural environment."
To achieve this, we produce content, plan products, and organize and manage events and workshops.

■Video "Asking Miura Peninsula's Marine Researchers about the Sea" (Roundtable with Female Marine Researchers)
A roundtable video featuring three female marine researchers from Miura Peninsula who were born and live there. They discuss "the relationship between people and the sea," "the deep-sea world," "coastal policy," and "gender issues in the research world" from diverse perspectives on the theme of "the sea," in an easy-to-understand, interesting, and sometimes sharp manner.
Previously, this video was available for paid streaming on Vimeo and our online store, but to allow more sea lovers to watch it, it will be released for free on note starting April 1st (this is not an April Fool's joke).

■Kamakura & Enoshima English Guidebook
"LOCAL FOCUS Vol.1: Kamakura & Enoshima: A Japan Guide to Nature, Culture, and Community"
When Tokyo was chosen to host the 2020 Olympics, and the Shonan area was selected as a sailing venue, anxiety spread among locals that "large capital might come in and destroy the local charm."
"We want to create an English tool that accurately conveys the culture, history, nature, and people who make this beloved land a charming place to foreign visitors." This approximately 200-page guidebook was produced and published by Japanese and foreign creators, including surfers and skin divers, on the themes of Nature, Culture, and Community.
The second revised edition is currently in production.

■Ethical Product Planning
"Kamakura-bori My Cutlery Set"
"Many people carry their own chopsticks but not straws or spoons, often ending up using disposable items for takeout or at markets."
We produced a portable cutlery set that is "handcrafted rather than mass-produced, conveys quality when held, and ages beautifully."
This set, created with the cooperation of the Kamakura-bori Cooperative, includes "Kamakura-bori spoons, forks, and chopsticks" and "lacquered natural bamboo straws," all housed in an original carry bag made of indigo-dyed canvas and tied with traditional Kyoto Sanada-himo cords.

We organize film screenings and talk events on the theme of the relationship between people and nature, and workshops where foreigners can experience Japanese views on nature and culture.
