Tokyo University of Health Sciences (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Toshiaki Tamura; President: Shuji Kameyama), operated by Aoba Gakuen Educational Foundation, will hold the "Tokyo University of Health Sciences Women's Basketball Club Experience Session" as a collaborative event with its Open Campus to be held on July 19, 2026 (Sun) at the Setagaya Campus.
The theme of this experience session is:
"Experience a Day of World-Class Daily Life."
On the day, a lecture (mock class) by Toru Onzuka, coach of the Tokyo University of Health Sciences Women's Basketball Club, and a practice experience with the women's basketball club are planned. Participants will experience the practice environment and team atmosphere of a team aiming for the top spot in Japan, and gain insight into the growth and future that awaits them by continuing to play basketball at university.
In addition to the athletic experience, this session is also linked to the "Sports Science Minor Program," which officially launched in the 2026 academic year. It is characterized by providing opportunities to learn about diverse careers in sports, such as coaches, analysts, managers, and trainers, not just athletic growth.
Our Women's Basketball Club emphasizes not only the top team but also the activities of the second team and student staff, valuing an environment that nurtures each individual's potential. This experience session is designed to connect aspirations for the future with what students want to learn and how they want to grow in university, not just their achievements in high school.
Background of the Event
Fostering human resources to support sports, not just athletic ability
In recent years, the importance of human resources who support sports from multiple angles, such as coaches, analysts, trainers, and managers, not just athletes, has been increasing in the sports field.
Tokyo University of Health Sciences aims to foster individuals who can play an active role in society through sports, not only by improving athletic performance but also by connecting the practical field of the Women's Basketball Club with the learning of the Sports Science Minor Program.
This experience session will provide high school students with an opportunity to experience the daily life of a team aiming for the top spot in Japan, as well as to learn about diverse career paths and future prospects related to sports.
"I want to continue playing basketball in university."
"I want to work in a sports-related field in the future."
"I am interested in supporting roles in sports, such as analysis and management."
"I want to expand my own potential."
This is a career experience program unique to Tokyo University of Health Sciences, aimed at high school students with such aspirations.

About the Sports Science Minor Program at Tokyo University of Health Sciences
Tokyo University of Health Sciences officially launched the "Sports Science Minor Program" in the 2026 academic year.
Our Sports Science Minor Program cultivates thinking, analytical, and supportive skills. It utilizes the environment of our Women's Basketball Club, which boasts the top ranking in Japan, as a "practical learning ground" and offers education that integrates data analysis, conditioning management, and mental training. While seriously engaging in athletic activities, students will connect these experiences to their future careers.
Another feature of this minor program is the ability to learn the thinking and approaches that top athletes and coaching staff practice daily. It aims to foster individuals sought after in the sports world and society by providing education that allows participants to acquire a professional perspective and standards honed through global competition.
