Tokyo Healthcare University and Kyoto Kagaku Sign Comprehensive Partnership Agreement on Nursing Education and Medical Talent Development

Tokyo Healthcare University, operated by the Aoba Gakuen Educational Foundation (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Board Chair: Toshiaki Tamura; President: Shuji Kameyama), has concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement with Kyoto Kagaku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fushimi-ku, Kyoto; President: Toshiyuki Takayama) concerning nursing education and medical talent development. The signing ceremony was held on May 8, 2026.

This agreement aims to advance nursing education and medical talent development while promoting educational digital transformation (DX). By mutually utilizing both parties' educational and research expertise, technologies including simulators, educational resources, and know-how, the partnership seeks to contribute to society through educational outcomes.

Tokyo Healthcare University has been promoting education that allows students to gradually enhance their clinical judgment and practical skills in immersive learning environments, utilizing electronic health records (EHR) for education, patient-type biological simulators, and VR equipment. This systematic approach to practical education incorporating DX was recognized in the 2025 university accreditation by the Japan University Accreditation Association as an initiative contributing to the visualization of learning outcomes and the improvement of educational quality.

Meanwhile, Kyoto Kagaku has long supported medical education by developing, manufacturing, and selling practical training models for medical, nursing, and nursing care education, as well as medical image phantoms. Building on this agreement, the partnership will integrate the university's insights from clinical practice with Kyoto Kagaku's manufacturing capabilities to advance comprehensive cooperation, including simulation education in nursing, educational DX, material development, evaluation methods, faculty training, and joint research and demonstration.

Main Contents of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement:
The following items will be advanced through this collaboration:
1. Utilization and advancement of educational simulators in nursing education.
2. Joint research and verification concerning the promotion of educational DX.
3. Cooperation in human resource development and training related to nursing education and medical talent cultivation.
4. Mutual support and cooperation in both parties' activities.
5. Other matters incidental to the above.

Immediate concrete initiatives include market research and needs analysis during product development, utilization and evaluation of new products in educational settings, feedback on educational effects and areas for improvement, planning and implementation of seminars and training sessions, and sharing expertise between employees and faculty members.

Future Direction of Collaboration:
Future initiatives will focus primarily on three pillars:
1. Product development that reflects the needs of the educational field.
2. Utilization and evaluation of new products and teaching materials in educational settings.
3. Knowledge sharing through seminars, training, etc.
