Tokyo Century Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroharu Fujiwara; hereinafter 'Tokyo Century') and TESS Holdings Corporation (Headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Kazuki Yamamoto; hereinafter 'TESS Holdings') have officially launched a large-scale grid-connected battery storage project in Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, based on their capital and business alliance (hereinafter 'this project').
This project is led by a special purpose company (SPC) established and fully funded by Tokyo Century, with TESS Engineering Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of TESS Holdings, serving as the end-to-end Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor. A ground-breaking safety prayer ceremony was recently held at the site to mark the start of construction.

The facility will be a large-scale grid-connected battery storage system with an output of approximately 50MW and a storage capacity of approximately 209MWh. Operating as a 'full merchant project' without relying on subsidies, it aims to generate revenue through power market operations while contributing to grid stabilization—an essential requirement for the expanded adoption of renewable energy. By combining the strengths of both companies, the project aims for rapid commercialization and the establishment of a robust power management system.
By integrating TESS Group's engineering expertise in energy infrastructure with Tokyo Century's advanced project structuring and financial know-how, the companies will advance initiatives toward a carbon-neutral society. Through this project, both parties aim to accelerate the construction of a value chain in the environmental infrastructure sector—the core objective of their capital and business alliance.
