Tess Holdings Co., Ltd. announced that its consolidated subsidiary, Tess Engineering Co., Ltd., has received an order from Kumamoton Solar Project Co., Ltd., which operates renewable energy businesses, for the installation of battery storage systems alongside a solar power plant utilizing the FIP system.

The project involves transitioning a FIT-based solar power plant operated by Kumamoton Solar Project to the FIP system and integrating a 12.9MWh capacity battery system. Tess Engineering plans to perform maintenance after installation to contribute to long-term stable operations.

In recent years, as output curtailment of renewable energy has increased, the introduction of the FIP system has allowed power producers to sell electricity based on market prices. By combining solar power with battery storage, producers can charge and discharge electricity based on supply-demand balances, thereby mitigating the impact of output curtailment and improving profitability.

This project is a key initiative under the Group's medium-term management plan, 'TX2030.' The company intends to continue actively working toward its target of 150MW in cumulative construction capacity by 2030.
