TESS Holdings Co., Ltd. announced that its consolidated subsidiary, TESS Engineering Co., Ltd., has received an order from a group company of ReENE Energy Co., Ltd. for the installation work of a grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS).

Overview of the Order This project involves the installation of a grid-scale BESS (capacity: approx. 8.9 MWh) operated by a ReENE Energy group company. A grid-scale BESS is a large-scale battery connected directly to the power transmission network, installed to stabilize the power grid, which can become unstable due to the spread of renewable energy power plants. Following delivery, TESS Engineering will conduct maintenance to contribute to long-term, stable operations.

TESS Group's Initiatives for Grid-Scale BESS In its grid-scale BESS initiatives, the TESS Group has in-house capabilities covering everything from land development and financial assessment to system engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance, and operation management (aggregation), enabling a one-stop response.

This initiative is one of the core focus areas of the medium-term management plan "TX2030," formulated and announced by the Group in August 2024. The company has set a medium-term goal of achieving a cumulative installation capacity of 700 MW by 2030 and plans to continue aggressive efforts toward this target.
