Art Gallery Cafe "WHAT CAFE" to Host Paper-Themed Exhibition "ON PAPER" from April 29, 2026 (Wed/Holiday). A Week to Enjoy Art Up Close

WHAT CAFE, an art gallery cafe operated by Terada Warehouse Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Kohei Terada), will hold "WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.45: ON PAPER: Art and Print Market" from April 29 (Wednesday/Holiday) to May 6 (Wednesday), 2026.

This exhibition explores the breadth of expression through "paper," one of the most familiar materials for artists and a source of ideas. It widely introduces works born from paper, including light line drawings, delicate prints, and three-dimensional works using Japanese paper. This marks the second time WHAT CAFE has hosted this event, and this year it is co-organized with 10 domestic galleries that focus on supporting young artists, exhibiting and selling approximately 500 works by a total of 49 artists.

In addition to artworks, the venue will also feature independently produced goods and booklets by artists, with some works available for immediate purchase and takeaway. This exhibition also incorporates market elements, making it ideal for first-time art buyers. The charm of diverse expressions born through paper can be enjoyed not only by those well-versed in art but also by those who have had few opportunities to engage with art until now.
