Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 to be Released on June 1st at TERRADA WINE MARKET

Warehouse TERRADA (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kohei Terada) will launch sales of Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 on its wine market site, TERRADA WINE MARKET, starting Monday, June 1, 2026. Bordeaux En Primeur is a traditional distribution system rooted in the Bordeaux region of France, where wine is purchased while still aging in barrels before bottling and received several years later. TERRADA WINE MARKET will offer a lineup including prestigious chateau wines and rare labels.

Despite record heatwaves and droughts, the 2025 Bordeaux vintage is expected to deliver a concentrated yet balanced flavor profile without being overly ripe. With an alcohol content of around 13.5–14.0%, it reflects a classic standard for recent years, characterized by a style that balances power with elegance. With high potential for long-term aging, it is being called the 'New Classic of the 21st Century,' reminiscent of the structure of 1986 while incorporating the refinement of recent excellent vintages like 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. However, production volumes are significantly lower than average, and availability for popular labels is expected to be limited.

Bordeaux En Primeur is a system unique to the region that allows for long-term aging for decades after delivery. Shipment of the 2025 vintage is scheduled for 2028 or later. TERRADA WINE MARKET will provide a lineup that showcases the unique characteristics of the 2025 vintage. Sales will begin sequentially by chateau, with updates provided via the special sales site and the 'Bordeaux En Primeur Limited Newsletter.'

Proper storage is crucial for En Primeur wines, which are often enjoyed for their evolution over long periods. Wines purchased through TERRADA WINE MARKET can be sent directly to the 'TERRADA WINE STORAGE' service after shipment, where they can be kept in optimal conditions at 14°C ±1°C and 70% ±10% humidity. Wines in original chateau wooden cases can also be stored as-is, which is highly valued by collectors as it preserves the wine's provenance.
