Terra Drone Strategically Invests in Ukrainian Counter-Drone Company Amazing Drones and Launches New Counter-Drone "Terra A1"

Terra Drone Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Toru Tokushige; hereinafter referred to as Terra Drone) is pleased to announce that through its subsidiary Terra Inspectioneering, it has entered into a capital and business alliance agreement with Amazing Drones LLC (hereinafter referred to as Amazing Drones), a developer and manufacturer of counter-drones in Ukraine, and has made a strategic investment. Furthermore, in collaboration with Amazing Drones, we will launch the counter-drone "Terra A1," aiming to expand our business in Ukraine, leverage the technical expertise cultivated in the country for practical applications, and accelerate our business for global expansion.

Terra Drone will contribute to building a sustainable next-generation defense infrastructure by providing rapid, low-cost, and high-performance defense assets, utilizing its accumulated expertise in drone technology and practical operations worldwide.

Background

In recent years, the global security environment has entered a significant transitional phase. The war in Ukraine, in particular, has seen drones, which are low-cost and can be deployed in large numbers, become decisive factors in the conflict, bringing about a major transformation compared to traditional, expensive, and limited weapon systems. For instance, there is an increasing number of cases where drones costing hundreds of thousands of yen neutralize weapons worth hundreds of millions of yen, fundamentally redefining the "economic rationality of defense." Under these circumstances, "countering cheap threats with cheap means" is becoming a new basic principle of defense.

Against this backdrop, Terra Drone announced its full-scale entry into the defense equipment market on March 23, 2026 (※1), with the aim of contributing to the construction of a sustainable next-generation defense infrastructure by leveraging its accumulated expertise in drone technology and practical operations worldwide.

Purpose of Investment

Amazing Drones, the company in which we have invested, has developed low-cost and rapidly deployable counter-drones in the actual combat environment of Ukraine, where electronic warfare and jamming are commonplace, and possesses high technical capabilities and knowledge gained through practical combat experience. Through this investment, Terra Drone aims to quickly establish solutions in the defense sector by incorporating these technologies and operational know-how.

Features of the New Counter-Drone "Terra A1"

The new counter-drone "Terra A1" is attracting attention as a new means of defense to replace conventional expensive interceptor missiles, featuring characteristics such as low cost, mass production capability, and rapid response. It covers a range of 32 km at a maximum speed of 300 km/h, exceeding the typical speed of Shahed drones (200 km/h). Leveraging its high stealth capabilities (low noise and low heat signature) due to electric propulsion, it achieves a flight time of 15 minutes, enabling it to handle everything from airspace surveillance to target detection and neutralization with a single unit.

Future Development by Terra Drone

Terra Drone will accelerate the development and supply of diverse unmanned assets, including counter-drones, FPV drones, reconnaissance drones, and unmanned boats, by leveraging its accumulated drone mass production technology and global expansion capabilities. Furthermore, in collaboration with partners in Japan, Europe, the United States, and other regions, we will respond to international defense demands and contribute to enhancing security capabilities.
