Tenpos Busters Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Atsushi Morishita), the largest domestic seller of used kitchen equipment for restaurants, will open "Tenpos Busters Kochi Tosa Store" in Tosa City, Kochi Prefecture in July 2026.
With the opening of this store, Kochi Prefecture will mark our 83rd store nationwide and complete our expansion into all four prefectures of Shikoku. In Kochi, a region nationally renowned for its "delicious food and sake," we will support the local food culture and restaurant management as a "savior for small and medium-sized restaurants."

Three Strengths of the Kochi Tosa Store
Our First Management Support Base in Kochi, a Leading "Food City"
Kochi Prefecture ranks first nationwide in traveler surveys for "local delicacies" (82.6%, 2025 / Source: Recruit "Jalan Domestic Travel Survey 2025"), receiving top-class national recognition for its culinary appeal. With 5,313 restaurants listed on Tabelog (Source: Tabelog / as of June 2026), it is a region where a large number of restaurants compete fiercely relative to its population size (approx. 638,000 people; Source: "2025 National Census" preliminary results). The Kochi Tosa store will be our first permanent base for businesses in this "food city."
Total Support as a "Savior" Precisely Because of Kochi's Intense Competition
Kochi is known for its high expenditure on dining out. Annual spending on yakiniku (eating out) ranks first nationwide, and sushi (eating out) ranks second nationwide (Kochi City / Source: Kochi Prefecture "2024 Average Family Income and Expenditure Survey (Kochi City)"). Against the backdrop of strong demand for dining out, there is also a concentration of restaurants, with 5.53 restaurant businesses per 1,000 people, ranking second nationwide (2021 / Source: Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications "Statistical Handbook of Japan 2025"). This indicates a market with intense competition among stores due to the abundance of choices.
In fact, the number of restaurant businesses in the prefecture decreased from 6,335 in 2001 to 3,809 in 2021 (Source: Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications "Establishment and Enterprise Census Survey," MIC & METI "Economic Census"). However, even in 2021, when the number of stores hit its lowest point in recent years, Kochi maintained the second-highest density of restaurants nationwide. And even now, with dining out demand recovering, over 5,000 restaurants continue to compete fiercely. Regardless of the changing landscape, the intensity of competition in Kochi remains unchanged. To continue operating in such a fiercely competitive area, it is crucial to not only refine taste and service but also to minimize initial investment and running costs.
Tenpos Busters' role extends beyond just selling kitchen equipment. Our mission is to be a "savior" for as many restaurants as possible to secure profits and continue their businesses. The Kochi Tosa store will serve as a contact point for various group services, supporting the resolution of the following management challenges:
・Cost Optimization: Proposals for highly cost-effective kitchen designs combining used and new equipment.
・Opening/Renovation Support: Consultation services from store planning to equipment selection.
・Recruitment Services: Support for hiring specialized in the restaurant industry to address labor shortages.
・DX/POS Systems: Support for implementing IT tools that reduce workload and visualize management.
National Network Backed by a Quarter Century of Expertise in Used Kitchen Equipment
Since its founding in 1997, Tenpos Busters has focused exclusively on selling used kitchen equipment, achieving the No. 1 position in industry sales (our survey, Source: Financial Results Briefing for the Period Ended April 2026). The inventory for the Kochi Tosa store is supported by a nationwide procurement network and a network of 83 stores nationwide, cultivated over the past quarter-century.
Used kitchen equipment purchased daily from restaurants and restaurant chains nationwide accumulates as inventory at stores across the country. Therefore, even if a product is not available at the Kochi Tosa store, it can be sourced from the inventory held by other stores nationwide. The ability to choose from nationwide inventory, rather than being limited to a single store's selection, is a strength unique to the largest domestic company specializing in used kitchens, unlike regional used kitchen equipment dealers.
We provide an environment where customers can select items needed for opening and operating a restaurant, from kitchen equipment to cooking utensils, tableware, and store furniture, while directly inspecting the actual items, thereby supporting the opening and renovation of restaurants in the region.
Our Commitment
◇ From the Store Opening Manager
Kochi Prefecture has the smallest habitable land area (as a percentage of total prefectural area) among all prefectures. Despite searching continuously since starting development work four years ago, we had difficulty finding properties that met our store opening area criteria. We will stock the largest selection of kitchen equipment, tableware, and cooking utensils in the prefecture and aim to be a store that can support restaurants in Kochi Prefecture both before and after opening.
◇ From the Public Relations Manager
Actually, I myself am a great admirer of Kochi's food. In particular, the smooth texture and subtle sweetness of 'noburi' (a type of fish cake) and the mellow sweetness of chestnut shochu are exceptional, and I am always impressed by the depth of Tosa's food culture. It is the local restaurant operators who support this rich food culture, one establishment at a time.
We are very excited to be opening the Kochi Tosa store, our final base in Shikoku, in Kochi. We aim not only to deliver kitchen equipment but also to be a source of support for those continuing their businesses in Kochi, from opening consultations to cost reviews and staffing introductions. We have prepared this base with such aspirations.
