GPU and Computing Environment Consultations from Labs Increase: TEGSYS Holds Additional Individual Consultations for Workstation Introduction and Budget Applications (June–August) Following Overwhelming Response in First Round

Tegara Corporation (headquarters: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture), which provides the research and industrial PC manufacturing and sales service "TEGSYS," will hold online individual consultations concerning workstation introduction and budget applications for laboratories from June 1 (Monday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026, in response to increased consultation needs regarding GPU and computing environments in laboratories. This initiative is the second round; the first round conducted in April–May 2026 received more inquiries than expected, particularly regarding GPU configurations and budget applications. Background: Advancement of AI utilization and practical workload for configuration study and budget application In research fields, as the use of AI analysis and numerical simulation expands, demands for computing resources are increasing, leading to reviews and upgrades of workstations including GPUs. Meanwhile, from June to August, universities and public research institutions are entering a period of equipment renewal for the latter half and the next fiscal year, and preparation for budget applications in anticipation of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) and various public offerings. At this timing, not only selecting high-performance configurations but also practical considerations such as designing configurations that are neither excessive nor insufficient for the purpose, optimization within budget, and organizing the rationale for configurations required for applications tend to become more important. Details of the workstation introduction consultation The consultation will offer proposals for solutions tailored to challenges, introduction of similar lab cases, confirmation of technical specifications and compatibility, consultation on estimates and delivery dates, and organization of information needed for budget applications. It can be used when you want to quickly decide whether to introduce a system or organize information before applying. Moreover, this consultation is conducted from a neutral standpoint to support technical consideration so that researchers can organize necessary technical information before budget applications. It is not premised on the purchase of specific products. By providing an opportunity for consultation even in the early stages of introduction consideration, it aims to facilitate configuration studies according to research content and operational conditions, and support initial consideration of equipment introduction and system construction in laboratories. Common consultation topics from the first round In the first round, many consultations from laboratories with specific issues included: "I don't know how many GPUs I need," "I can't identify the bottleneck of the current configuration," "I can't decide whether an expensive configuration is necessary and am struggling with budget balance," and "I'm proceeding with obtaining estimates but haven't organized the explanation basis for the application." In this second round, based on these actual consultation topics, we provide an opportunity that can be utilized from an even earlier stage. TEGSYS response content In this consultation, depending on the research purpose (AI analysis, numerical calculation, simulation), we will organize and propose the idea of GPU selection (generation, number) based on processing content, CPU/memory/storage design based on computational load and data size, and organization of update/expansion policy premised on the existing environment, according to conditions. The feature is that it does not presuppose the sale of specific products and responds to configuration studies based on research themes and operational conditions.
