TechTouch Inc., a company that supports corporate DX (Digital Transformation) from the perspective of system utilization, launched the SNS campaign "#EndangeredSpeciesBookkeeping" on March 31, "Accounting Day." This campaign aims to visualize the current state of on-site DX implementation, which is in a transitional phase. The project defines analog struggles still prevalent in accounting departments, such as "receipt puzzles" where disparate receipts are manually pasted onto paper, and "stapler strata" illustrating the thickness of monthly financial closings, as "endangered species" and introduces them in an illustrated guide format.
According to our survey (※1), 60.7% of large companies responded that they "do not fully utilize their systems." This campaign questions the current Japanese DX structure, which relies too heavily on the "ingenuity (read: effort)" of the frontline, and proposes a society where everyone can enjoy the benefits of technology.

■ Project Background: Year-end accounting departments facing challenges in "mastering" DX.

While DX investments in Japanese companies are accelerating, the challenge of "not being able to fully utilize tools after their introduction" is becoming apparent on the ground. Our survey (※1) shows that 60.7% of large companies responded that they "do not fully utilize their systems." The biggest reason for this is the "difficulty of understanding the system," leading to a paradoxical situation where humans still adapt to the system, despite digitalization efforts.

This structure, where "humans compensate for system deficiencies with their adaptability," is occurring in various workplaces across Japan. This time, coinciding with "Accounting Day" on March 31, when operations are most concentrated throughout the year, the focus has been specifically placed on the accounting department.

This project is not merely a proposal for operational efficiency. It is an attempt to visualize and acknowledge the "invisible contributions and struggles" of accounting personnel who have supported organizations, and then to question society about a new way of working hand-in-hand with technology.
