Tech Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Representative Director: Naotaka Nishiyama) announces that it has been awarded the 'Highly Skilled Human Resource Exchange Support Project' commissioned by Nagoya City. The purpose of this project is to hold company information sessions at major universities in the Republic of India, thereby increasing awareness and promoting employment of Indian highly skilled talent among companies in Nagoya City. Leveraging its track record of supporting the recruitment of many Indian highly skilled professionals, Tech Japan will promote this project in close collaboration with Nagoya City.
Background: Challenges for Nagoya Companies in Recruiting Indian Highly Skilled Talent
Amidst the rapidly expanding demand for talent in AI, semiconductors, and advanced software, securing highly skilled IT and science/engineering personnel has become an urgent issue for Nagoya, which is home to the automotive and manufacturing industries. India, with its abundant young science talent and excellent English skills, is attracting attention as a promising recruitment destination. However, Nagoya companies have low recognition at major Indian universities, and challenges remain in developing recruitment know-how and reception systems.
Tech Japan operates 'Talendy,' the only recruitment platform used by India's top 25 universities, and holds Japan's largest database of Indian highly skilled talent, with one in three IIT graduating students registered. In 2019, it signed an MoU with IIT Hyderabad and has built unique trust relationships with top universities across India through direct collaboration with their career placement offices.
In fiscal year 2025, as a core partner of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's commissioned project 'India-Japan Talent Bridge (IJTB),' it gathered over 2,000 applications from 22 Indian universities and facilitated internships for 103 individuals. This achievement was recognized, leading to participation in the 'GS-Japan Tech Talent Internship (GS-JTI)' in fiscal year 2026, which expanded target countries to the entire Global South. Through this project, Tech Japan will contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of companies in Nagoya City, including the manufacturing sector.
