### Overview of the Welcome Event

Seikei University's programming circle "PeachTech" held a Welcome Event to greet newly enrolled first-year students. In this event, in addition to introducing the circle's activities and interacting with senior members, freshmen immediately challenged an ideathon. Through the experience of tackling a theme and shaping ideas from scratch with their peers, it became an opportunity to cultivate the foundation of problem-solving skills. With experienced seniors placed in teams, first-year students actively exchanged ideas and engaged in lively discussions in an atmosphere where programming experience was not questioned, which was impressive.

For this event, TechTrain, with the cooperation of Dip Corporation, supported the provision of the venue. TechTrain also presented the TechTrain Award to teams with particularly excellent perspectives and ideas in the ideathon, supporting the challenges of students who tackle problem-solving right after enrollment. Furthermore, at the social gathering, TechTrain sponsored snacks to soothe brains tired from the ideathon.

### TechTrain Award Winning Idea

Idea Name: MomoPay
Idea Overview: A mobile ordering system aimed at resolving congestion at campus convenience stores, allowing orders and payments to be completed via smartphone. Pre-ordering from seats reduces waiting time at the register. Purchase points can be used at campus copy machines or within "MomoPay" to encourage continuous student use. It also features a sustainable design that considers food waste reduction through an automatic price adjustment function for unsold menu items linked to inventory management.

Background of TechTrain's Selection: We evaluated the originality of presenting a solution from the perspective of "cash registers" for the common problem of "cafeteria congestion." The perspective of simultaneously solving both user convenience improvement and store's unsold item reduction is also excellent. The problem and solution were systematically presented as a set, clearly conveying the product's intent. We hope they will utilize the TechTrain Award's 1-on-1 ticket to deepen discussions towards product commercialization.

### Comment from the Student Event Organizer

Ryo Umezawa, Seikei University PeachTech Event Team Leader

This was my first time primarily planning and operating an event, and what I strongly felt throughout the day was the importance of preparation and coordination with stakeholders. With appropriate support from TechTrain and Dip Corporation representatives, as well as PeachTech representatives and other members, we were able to conduct the event without major issues. As a result, it was well-received by both freshmen and current students, and I realized the value of operating by involving those around me. Based on the lessons learned from this valuable experience, I hope to lead to smoother and more valuable event operations in the future.
