TATEYAMA BREWING Inc. (Headquarters: Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture), a craft gin manufacturer, will launch the 'LIQUID DESIGN PROJECT', a joint development project with restaurants and brands, on the occasion of TATEYAMA GIN's 5th anniversary.
This project is not a one-off 'commemorative collaboration', but an initiative to present the market with development capabilities through co-creation, positioning TATEYAMA GIN as a joint development partner that goes beyond contract manufacturing.
As the first step, we are launching an original gin, 'TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL', in co-creation with the creative company 301 Inc. and 'No.', a cafe-bar in Yoyogi-Uehara that embodies 301's philosophy.
Additionally, a launch event will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 'No.' in Yoyogi-Uehara. On the day, we will offer original cocktail recipes from 'No.' using 'TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL', and also hold an explanatory session for the food and beverage industry, liquor retailers, and media by the project's distiller and creative director.
Through this project, teaming up with 301, we will propose original craft gins for restaurants, hotels, and brands, as well as cocktail development stemming from the associated concepts and brands.
BRAND TO BOTTLE
Bringing a brand's philosophy to the bottle and the experience.
In the alcoholic beverage OEM market, conditions such as 'manufacturing capacity', 'price', and 'lot size' have tended to be the main axes of comparison, making differentiation difficult.
However, what brands and stores truly need is not just the manufacturing of the contents. What is demanded is development aligned with a purpose, including what concept the product is designed under and what kind of experience it will be delivered as.
In response to this challenge, utilizing the experience of realizing numerous requests as an OEM partner to date, TATEYAMA GIN redefines product development not as 'contract manufacturing' but as the 'joint development of taste and experience'.
By designing taste starting from a concept or theme, and integrating naming, visuals, and serving scenes as needed, we propose 'BRAND TO BOTTLE', a new approach to development that meets the specific goals of each brand and store.
Examples of Joint Development Consultations
- Development of house gin/original bottles for restaurants
- Development of signature drinks for hotels and commercial facilities
- Development of anniversary products, gifts, and novelties for brands
- Development of original alcoholic beverages tailored to events and limited-time plans
- Design of naming, presentation, and serving experience accompanying product development
Creating the One and Only: Taste Design x Experience Design
Satoshi Ota, the distiller at TATEYAMA GIN, has a background in the architecture industry. By understanding taste and aroma not just through the senses but as a 'structure', he drops them into reproducible recipes and specifications. His major characteristic is the ability to design abstract themes down to a level of precision that makes them viable products.
On the other hand, Shogo Otani, the representative of 301, is a creative director. As a restaurant manager and brand director, he has designed structures that properly convey brand value by crossing words, visuals, and serving experiences.
In this project, by connecting the 'taste design' undertaken by TATEYAMA GIN and the 'experience design' undertaken by 301, we expand conventional OEM from 'recipe development' to the 'integrated development of customer experience'. This enables high-value-added joint development that is less prone to falling into price competition.

TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL
Born as the first step of the LIQUID DESIGN PROJECT is the original gin 'TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL', a collaboration with 'No.', a cafe and bar in Yoyogi-Uehara managed by 301.
Unlike conventional development starting from botanicals, the design of this work started from the concept of 'black'. From the idea of converting such meanings into taste and experience, and focusing on black botanicals,
