Tanabe Consulting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo / Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President and Representative Director: Takahiko Wakamatsu), a pioneer in management consulting in Japan, planned and operated the 'OJT-type Cross-Boundary Learning Program Results Presentation for Improving Support Capabilities' on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. This was the results reporting session for the 'Cross-Boundary Hands-on Support Practical Training' hosted by the Small and Medium Enterprise Policy Investigation Division, General Affairs and Planning Department, Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (hereinafter referred to as the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry).

1. About the 'Cross-Boundary Hands-on Support Practical Training'
The 'Cross-Boundary Hands-on Support Practical Training' hosted by the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry aims to develop local supporters. It is a training program where participants provide issue-setting hands-on support to companies aiming for growth. Teams were formed by 7 experienced supporter team leaders and 39 participants from various support organizations in the Kansai region, such as local governments, chambers of commerce, and financial institutions. Each team provided hands-on support to 8 growth-oriented companies in the Kansai region. Tanabe Consulting served as the planner and operator of this training and, as a researcher, visualized and analyzed tacit knowledge, sharing a summary of the results.

This training is a challenging initiative aiming to 'raise the baseline of support capabilities' of local support organizations. Teams exceeding organizational boundaries, led by experienced supporters, implement corporate support together, connecting practical learning for supporters by focusing on both tacit and explicit knowledge. It went beyond mere training, providing an opportunity to prompt self-transformation in supporters themselves while offering added value to the supported companies.

Tanabe Consulting was commissioned by the Kansai Bureau to conduct the 'FY2025 SME Fact-Finding Survey (A Survey on the Effectiveness of the 'Cross-Boundary Hands-on Support Practical Training' for Strengthening Support Capabilities and Systems for Growth-Oriented Companies)', and managed this results reporting session.
