Takusho Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Chiba City, Representative Director Hideyuki Kudo), which operates the treehouse cafe 'Tsubakimori Komuna,' will reopen the facility on June 19, 2026, as a hybrid complex equipped with accommodation and dining functions.
Ten years since its inception in 2015, a new architectural project has been completed in this small forest loved by the local residential community. The project was designed and built by 'HISHIDA,' a globally acclaimed carpenter artist based in Sakaki Town, Nagano Prefecture. The first floor is transformed into a permanent cafe that can be enjoyed regardless of the weather, and the second floor becomes a private accommodation limited to one group per day.
Currently, the company is advancing the 'Neverland Concept,' a regional development project aimed at creating bustle around Chiba Park. The newly renovated 'Tsubakimori Komuna' will serve as a 'Gate' (entrance) to this initiative, acting as a new base for both local residents and domestic/international tourists to experience the city.
About HISHIDA
Fourteen years since its founding by artisan artist Shohei Hishida (as of 2026). The brand focuses on 'handcraft,' 'material texture,' and 'beauty' to create homes whose value deepens over time. Under the philosophy of 'Furubiru' (beautiful aging), the firm proposes architecture that utilizes artisan handwork and earth materials to turn aging into a process of aesthetic refinement. Attracting attention both in Japan and overseas, their total Instagram followers exceed 500,000. As part of regional activities, the company has acquired company-owned forests and uses local timber for home construction.

Key Point 1: Architecture of 'Aging Beautification' Breathing with Artisan Craftsmanship
HISHIDA focused on the similarities between 15th-16th century French wooden architecture and Japanese temple/shrine architecture, reproducing them with modern craftsmanship. The building is filled with the warmth of wood and overwhelming craftsmanship in every detail. Completion is not the goal; visitors can enjoy how the building ages beautifully ('Furubiru') over 1, 10, or more years while being cherished by the community.
Key Point 2: 1st Floor = A Permanent Forest Cafe Enjoyable Even on Rainy Days
'Tsubakimori Komuna,' which previously operated mainly through outdoor food trucks, now features a long-awaited indoor permanent space. Guests can enjoy meals comfortably regardless of the weather in a space surrounded by the scent of wood and an open kitchen.
The menu features the new signature 'Homemade Meat Sauce Burger.' This dish combines a special bun sourced from the sister bakery 'Bakery Toit' with a juicy patty and homemade meat sauce. The selection of craft beer and other beverages has also been expanded. The cafe serves as a prime spot not only under sunny tree-draped sunlight but also in the forest during rainy days.
Key Point 3: 2nd Floor = Private Lodging Limited to One Group per Day. An Exciting Stay Experience in 'Neverland'
The second floor of the building is a luxurious, private rental-style accommodation space. Guests can spend a special time surrounded by beautiful wooden craftsmanship by HISHIDA.
Around Chiba Park, the 'Neverland Concept' is underway to improve mobility between bases and evolve the area into a more attractive town. The development concept is 'Small good things.'
In this special space open to only one group per day, the facility offers a travel experience to fully savor Chiba, such as waking up in a small forest with the chirping of birds, strolling through the natural Chiba Park in front of the building, and enjoying drinks while feeling a pleasant breeze at the first-floor cafe at night.
The accommodation is scheduled to open on July 3 (Friday), hosting up to 4 adults and up to 2 preschool children co-sleeping. Accommodation for pets (small dogs) is planned to start sequentially. Pre-orders are currently being accepted.
