Takuma Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture; President: Kuniaki Hamada), as the representative of a corporate group, received an order on February 17 this year for the development project of a new waste treatment facility (hereinafter referred to as "this project") from the Kakegawa City and Kikugawa City Sanitation Facilities Association, which consists of Kakegawa City and Kikugawa City in Shizuoka Prefecture. This project aims to develop an advanced waste treatment facility that will stably process waste over the long term and contribute to regional decarbonization and resource circulation.

The Kakegawa City and Kikugawa City Sanitation Facilities Association decided to develop a new waste treatment facility due to the aging of existing facilities, and our corporate group, represented by Takuma, recently received the design and construction contract. This project involves the new construction of an incineration facility and a material recycling promotion facility within the existing facility's premises.

This project will introduce the latest combustion technologies, such as high-performance stoker furnaces capable of flexibly responding to future fluctuations in waste volume and quality, and AI combustion control systems (ICS*). Furthermore, thorough fire prevention measures to prevent fire accidents caused by lithium-ion batteries, etc., will ensure long-term stable operation.

In addition, by maximizing power generation through a high-efficiency power generation system, including high-temperature and high-pressure boilers, and by introducing numerous state-of-the-art energy-saving equipment to suppress power consumption, we aim to maximize surplus power generated from waste and contribute to regional decarbonization. Concurrently, by introducing a mechanism that inherits and develops the resource separation initiatives implemented at the existing facilities, we will strongly promote regional resource circulation.

In the waste treatment plant business, our company boasts the largest number of facilities in Japan, approximately 380, in addition to environmental technologies such as advanced combustion and heat recovery technologies. In this project, we will maximize the utilization of these technologies to design and construct a waste treatment facility with low environmental impact, thereby contributing to the formation of a circular society.
