The small bamboo basket gently holds rounded eggs, not as an ornate decoration for dishes, but as an item that blends naturally into everyday life while adding a soft atmosphere to the dining table. The “Toratake Handled Boiled Egg Basket” is carefully handwoven one by one by artisans using bamboo and rattan. Its loosely woven texture, not overly uniform or refined, carries the warmth unique to handmade work. The natural, uneven expression gives it a rustic charm, allowing users to appreciate the value of handcraft each time they use it. The bottom section is woven with the outer skin of rare tiger bamboo, a specialty of Susaki City in Kochi Prefecture.
