Takashimaya Osaka Launches 'Job Experience in Takashimaya Osaka' – Around 650 Children to Work During Event

Takashimaya Osaka will host the 'Job Experience in Takashimaya Osaka' event from Wednesday, August 5 to Tuesday, August 11 (National Holiday). The event is inspired by 'KidZania,' an experiential learning program designed to help children—Japan’s future generation—develop real-life skills through fun career and social experiences. In the Kansai region, 'KidZania Koshien' opened in March 2009 and has since remained a popular attraction. Since its opening, Takashimaya has operated a 'Department Store' pavilion at KidZania Koshien, offering children experiences such as retail customer service and shopping using special in-game currency. Since 2014, Takashimaya has also hosted its own in-store 'Job Experience' program, leveraging KidZania’s expertise. This year, with cooperation from various companies, approximately 650 children will experience around 40 different jobs during the event. The program is offered free of charge (with some paid activities) and aims to provide a socially responsible initiative where children can easily experience working life, while creating enjoyable family memories and fostering greater familiarity with the Takashimaya brand. During the event, visitors may encounter adorable 'child staff members'! Each participating child will receive a 500-yen coupon redeemable at 'Namba Dining Maison' (the restaurant district) as a token of appreciation instead of a salary.

■ Target Age: 4 years old to 6th grade elementary school (varies by job)

■ Lottery Application Period: Monday, June 29, 10:00 AM – Sunday, July 5, 6:00 PM

■ How to Apply: Apply via the Takashimaya app. Membership registration (free) is required.

■ Lottery Results Notification: Successful applicants will be notified by email starting Tuesday, July 14, 10:00 AM.
