“Tetsuko's Room,” a long-running talk show on TV Asahi, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026. Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. will host the “Tetsuko's Room 50th Anniversary Exhibition” ~With Love~, an exhibition where visitors can experience the world of this program, which has produced numerous famous dialogues over half a century.

This exhibition, under the concept of [With Love], will look back at the 50-year journey woven by “Tetsuko's Room” and focus on the “connections between people” that the program has cherished for many years.

Through famous scenes from the program, a multitude of valuable photos and materials, we will introduce the trajectory of conversations built by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, and the kindness and compassion that flows through them from multiple perspectives. Actress, UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) Goodwill Ambassador. Born in Nogizaka, Tokyo.

Graduated from Tokyo College of Music, Vocal Music Department, after attending Tomoe Gakuen and Kyoran Girls' School.

Joined NHK Broadcasting Drama Troupe and became NHK's first exclusive TV actress.

Started the talk show “Tetsuko's Room” in 1976.

While appearing on TV and radio, she established the Totto Foundation, a social welfare corporation, focusing on training professional deaf actors, theatrical activities, and sign language classes. Her book “Totto-chan, the Little Girl at the Window” became a bestseller with 8 million copies.

Member of the Japan P.E.N. Club. Director of Chihiro Art Museum (Tokyo/Azumino). Vice Chairman of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Honorary President of the Japan Panda Protection Association. Recipient of the Order of Cultural Merit in 2015.
