[Special Exhibition] Golden Two-Way Player Shohei Ohtani
Life-sized gold statues of MLB Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani, "Golden Batter Shohei Ohtani" and "Golden Pitcher Shohei Ohtani," will be displayed together.
These gold statues were produced by SGC Co., Ltd., a pioneer in gold products, with Ohtani's official approval, over approximately two years.
The Golden Batter statue uses approximately 1,550 sheets of gold leaf and stands about 1.9m tall (about 2.4m from the base to the tip of the bat), the same height as Ohtani. The Golden Pitcher statue uses approximately 1,450 sheets of gold leaf and stands about 1.7m tall.
The reference price for each statue is 50 million yen (excluding tax, 55 million yen including tax), and 100 million yen (excluding tax, 110 million yen including tax) for both, commemorating Ohtani's unprecedented 50-50 record (50 home runs & 50 stolen bases in a single season) achieved in 2024.
