Takara Shuzo Co., Ltd. announces price adjustments for products in affected categories* effective October 1, 2026, in response to the revision of liquor tax rates to be implemented on that date.
Additionally, due to the ongoing upward trend in raw material and packaging costs, as well as logistics expenses, it has become extremely difficult for the company to absorb these rising manufacturing and distribution costs through internal efforts alone. Therefore, the company will also implement price adjustments to reflect these cost increases. As a result, certain products will see price revisions reflecting both the liquor tax rate changes and rising operational costs.
Furthermore, the company will discontinue the suggested retail pricing for chuhai products, including Takara 'Shochu Highball', Takara can chuhai, and 'Takara Shochu Soft Tea Mix'.
Moving forward, the company will continue its efforts toward further rationalization and cost reduction to ensure the stable supply of safe and reliable products.
* Categories subject to increased taxation under the liquor tax rate revision:
Other sparkling alcoholic beverages, and non-sparkling liqueurs and spirits (both with less than 10% alcohol content)
