Takara Shuzo Co., Ltd. will rebrand and redesign the packaging of its product formerly known as "Gokujo <Takara Shochu> Carbonated Mix 'Tanchu'" and relaunch it nationwide as "Gokujo Takara Highball" on Tuesday, April 7.
"Gokujo Takara Highball" is a canned korui shochu highball made by blending "Gokujo <Takara Shochu>" with strong carbonated water in an optimal ratio.
The shochu-and-soda drink has been gaining popularity at restaurants in Tokyo, and since its launch in 2022, the canned version has received positive feedback from customers who appreciate its "clean, non-sweet taste that pairs well with meals and can be easily enjoyed at home."
To better communicate its key feature — a simple, non-sweet carbonated shochu drink made with only premium shochu and carbonated water — the company will update the name and package design while keeping the well-received flavor unchanged.
In recent years, "shochu RTDs" (Ready to Drink) that carry shochu brand names and highlight shochu flavors have been growing in popularity. Through this relaunch, Takara Shuzo aims to further energize the korui shochu market.
*RTD: Abbreviation for Ready to Drink — alcoholic beverages such as canned chuhai that can be consumed as-is.
